Students may change their Dining Plan up until the 100% refund date, as published in the academic calendar in the Schedule of Classes. Students should simply email firstname.lastname@example.org for further information or to request a meal plan change.
Students must present a valid college I.D. card in order to use their Dining Plan or Ramapo Dollars. Dining Plans are non-transferable and may not be used by anyone other than the owner of the I.D. Students are entitled to unlimited service while in the Student Restaurants, however, food, trays or service ware may not be removed from the dining area.
As a common courtesy to other users, students are asked to place their food, dishes, trays, utensils, etc., in the provided receptacles when leaving the dining facility. These rules apply to all outside seating areas as well.
Students in the apartments may shop at the local grocery stores and cook their own meals in the kitchen facilities provided in their apartment. Although it is not mandatory for apartment residents to purchase a Dining Plan, it is encouraged. Apartment residents may sign up for a Dining Plan in the Office of Residence Life in C-213 or purchase Ramapo Dollars directly from Dining Services.
Late Night Dining allows students to enjoy snacks such as pizza, grill items, lighter fare, ice cream, sandwiches, fruit and assorted beverages at the Birch Tree Inn from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m., seven days a week. Students may access “late night” as part of their Dining Plan or with Flex, Ramapo Dollars or cash.
Students who are ill or disabled and cannot get to one of the dining facilities can also make arrangements for a boxed meal by calling Dining Services at the number listed above. In such cases, a friend or roommate can pick up the meal for them, using the student’s I.D. along with a note of explanation. Advance notice of such a need is appreciated and will better ensure prompt service.
Dining Services can accommodate most special diets. Vegetarian and Vegan interests are kept in mind as menus are developed. There is a specific process for making special requests for medical, religious, cultural or other reasons. Students with such requests should inquire at the Dining Services Office, located across from the Atrium dining room.
Students residing in Pine, Linden, Bischoff, Mackin, Laurel and Overlook Halls are required to purchase a meal plan each semester. Meal plan selection is made during the housing process.All meal plans are also available for purchase by students living in The Village and College Park Apartments, as well as commuters, faculty and staff. We encourage you to try this convenient, economical option! Simply email email@example.com with your selection.

Below is a glossary of commonly used terms that may assist students in making their selection.
NEW FOR COMMUTERS & APARTMENT STUDENTS!!
Ramapo Dollars can be purchased in any amount at the Dining Services Office or via email. Please allow at least 72 hours for any meal plan or Ramapo Dollar transactions to be processed. Ramapo Dollar balances carry over from semester to semester and are non-refundable.
Purchases with the Dining Services Office must be made using cash or checks in the Dining Services Main Office on the 1st floor of the Student Center.
Purchases made via email are billed directly to your student’s account. Students must send their request to firstname.lastname@example.org via their Ramapo e-mail account. The request must include: the student’s complete first and last name, Banner ID Number (R#) and the requested Ramapo Dollar amount.
Please note: students can ONLY select one of the payment options listed above, they cannot do both (as doing so causes billing errors).
Flex Dollars: Flex dollars are attached to all Dining Plans and are used at any of our retail locations, for student catering and to pay for guest meals at Birch Tree Inn or the Pavilion, or for meals at these locations above a student’s weekly allowance. Similar to a debit account, the assigned amount of dollars are available at the beginning of each semester and debited as they are used. Any Flex Dollars not used by the end of each semester are forfeited.
Late Night Dining: In addition to the traditional breakfast, lunch and dinner served, Ramapo College offers a late night dining program from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m., seven days a week. All meal plans may use a meal as an option during this time frame.
Meal: This represents each time a student enters the student restaurant for breakfast, lunch or dinner. The student may enter the facility only once during each meal period (see meal periods below), with the exception of the Ultimate plan, which offers unlimited usage. Any additional meals over and above the number stated in the selected Dining Plan will require payment with Flex, Ramapo Dollars or cash.

Ramapo Dollars: These are used the same as flex dollars, but may be purchased without a traditional meal plan. Ramapo Dollars carry over from semester to semester and stay with a student while enrolled at Ramapo College. This plan may be purchased at any time throughout the semester through the Ramapo Dining Office or the Office of Residence Life. Purchases made in Dining Services are paid by cash or check only and payment is expected at time of purchase. Ramapo Dollars are not refundable.
Retail Locations: This refers to our a la carte dining locations: the Curtain Call Café (located in the Berrie Center), the Atrium (located in the Scott Student Center) and the Roadrunner Express Convenience Store (located in the Trustees Pavilion). All three facilities accept cash, Flex and Ramapo Dollars.
Student Restaurant: The student restaurants are the facilities that offer all-you-care-to-eat dining for students on meal plans, as well as visitors who wish to pay a flat rate at the door. The student restaurants are the Birch Tree Inn (located in the Scott Student Center) and Pavilion Dining (located in the Trustees Pavilion).
Week: The week begins on Saturday and ends on Friday. There are four meals served Monday through Friday: breakfast, lunch, dinner, and late night dining. There are three meals served on Saturday and Sunday: brunch, dinner and late night dining. Meal allotment is reallocated on Saturday for brunch. There are approximately 16 weeks in each semester.
